Get Ready to Walk With Giants

Calling all dino enthusiasts and nature documentary buffs! Get ready for a thrilling journey back in time as Netflix gears up for the “next iteration” of its hit series, Life on Our Planet. This exciting new chapter, though still untitled, will take viewers on a captivating exploration of the rise and fall of the dinosaurs.

Morgan Freeman, the iconic actor whose voice has narrated countless wonders of our universe, will once again lend his gravitas to the project. And joining him as executive producer is none other than Steven Spielberg, the visionary filmmaker who brought dinosaurs to life in Jurassic Park.

This isn’t your average dinosaur doc, though. This upcoming series, produced by Silverback Films and Amblin Documentaries, promises to be a deep dive spanning a staggering 170 million years. Imagine – we’ll witness the emergence of these magnificent creatures, unravel the secrets of their evolution, and delve into the reasons behind their ultimate demise.

The production team is clearly buzzing with excitement. Dan Tapster, showrunner at Silverback Films, describes it as “an extraordinary privilege” to bring these prehistoric giants back to the screen. He promises viewers will be “immersed” in their world, experiencing the awe-inspiring majesty and drama of their lives in a way never seen before.

ILM and Balfe Return to Craft a Dino Extravaganza

The same team that brought us the stunning visuals of Life on Our Planet is returning for this dino adventure. Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), the special effects powerhouse behind countless cinematic wonders, will once again craft the animation that will bring these creatures to life. The award-winning composer Lorne Balfe will also be back, ensuring a truly immersive experience.

“We couldn’t be more excited,” say Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey, executive producers and presidents of Amblin Television & Documentaries. They echo the enthusiasm for reuniting with the creative team and promise to “transport audiences back in time” to witness these magnificent creatures in all their glory.

Nick Shoolingin-Jordan will be directing this epic saga, with Spielberg, Keith Scholey, Darryl Frank, and Justin Falvey serving as executive producers. Freeman, a two-time Emmy nominee for his narration work, brings his legendary voice to the project, ensuring a truly unforgettable experience.

Life on Our Planet, which premiered last year on Netflix, explored the vast tapestry of life on Earth across billions of years. This new dino-centric iteration will be a tighter four-episode series, focusing solely on these captivating giants.

So, mark your calendars, dino fans! Get ready to be amazed as Netflix takes us on a breathtaking journey through the age of dinosaurs, with Morgan Freeman as our guide and Steven Spielberg at the helm.
