The biggest story of the night was undoubtedly Lainey Wilson’s double triumph. Not only did she snag the coveted Female Artist of the Year award, but she also took home the night’s most prestigious trophy – Entertainer of the Year. This marked a historic first for Wilson, solidifying her place as a force to be reckoned with in the country music landscape.

Chris Stapleton, a perennial ACM favorite, also had a successful night. His critically acclaimed album, “Higher,” was named Album of the Year, showcasing his masterful songwriting and powerful vocals.

Established Stars Shine and New Talent Emerges

There were plenty of other reasons to celebrate throughout the evening. Dan + Shay continued their reign as Duo of the Year, while Old Dominion secured the Group of the Year award. Newcomers also got their share of the spotlight, with Megan Moroney and Nate Smith taking home the New Female Artist and New Male Artist awards, respectively.

The night wasn’t just about trophies – the music itself took center stage. From the foot-stomping energy of “Fast Car” by Luke Combs (which won Single of the Year) to the emotional resonance of Jordan Davis’ “Next Thing You Know” (awarded Song of the Year), the performances kept the audience captivated. The Music Event of the Year award went to “Save Me,” a powerful collaboration between Jelly Roll and the newly crowned Entertainer of the Year, Lainey Wilson.

With a mix of established stars and rising talents, the 2024 ACM Awards proved to be a night of celebration for country music. Lainey Wilson’s historic win and Chris Stapleton’s continued success were just a few of the highlights that left fans buzzing. It was a night that showcased the genre’s enduring legacy and its exciting future.
